Fr. Hoopes resigned on May 3, 2026, in his letter “Promised Thoughts.” Since that time, St. Charles has been seeking a new priest.

Welcoming Br. Marcelino Yanez
Br. Marcelino Yanez is scheduled to be ordained to the priesthood by Bishop Hartley on October 7, 2026. Please keep him in your prayers as he prepares for ordination and ministry.
Newly ordained Fr. Yanez will then move to Cheboygan during the second week of October for full-time ministry at St. Charles.
Come together on September 15
Br. Marcelino Yanez will be present at our community meeting on Tuesday, September 15, 2026, at 6:30 PM, at St. Charles Borromeo Church, 221 N. Bailey Street, Cheboygan.
